Michaela Ruby

I’ve always had a passion for poetry and believe words hold power and impact people’s lives in many ways. I want my poems to reflect the challenges most people and myself have went through. To give people a hope despite all of the darkness. There is always a light at the end of the tunnel. I hope my poems are able to help.

A Prison Called Home
My mind has only grown into a prison
A cellar where only I know what’s going on in here
A place that I like to call home
Ever since that day I’ve only grown attached to this place
As the days go by I only feel these walls closing in on me
Constantly hearing these whispers within the walls
They only get louder when I’m awake
Constantly reminding me of what I am and who I am
I cannot escape from this place
When I’m asleep my mind is only at peace
I like to call it my happy place
All of the memories that I had in my past life replay
As if I was in a field filled with dandelions
When I was laughing with all of my loved ones
As if the sun would never go down and the flowers would always bloom
Those memories only filled my heart with ecstasy
Maybe one day I could see my family and friends again in the afterlife
I’ll cherish those memories and bury them deep in my mind
I’ll bury them deeper then any ocean
Until the day I die
The wolf
The wolf in sheep’s clothing.
The wolf always comes back to bite the sheep no matter how far the sheep runs.
The wolf will hide in the sheep’s clothing, but soon the wolf comes out and devours the lamb.
He eats the lambs flesh and tears the sheep’s wool off .
The lamb begs can beg for mercy but the wolf will never change.
The wolf will always be a viscous predator.
Soon the sheep becomes numb to the pain and stops struggling.
Pain is all that it knows, so why should the lamb run?
No matter where you go, no matter where you hide it’ll find you.
Even if the wounds heal, there’ll still be scars.
The scars will never go away.
The lamb will always remember the scars that were left.
