In this strange little world
See, it’s these poems that I’ve kept on writing
Ever since I felt both young and free
But the road has not been clear, like one might assume
Several times there’s been opposition
And some form or other of contradiction
However, I have determined to be sturdy and firm
Like some great rock
No matter what I won’t stop
Writing the poems that give me hope
For it’s in my control to respond
And this writers pen will not cease
Simply because there’s one small piece that offends another
They can get over it and move on
Just like I can ignore what they said that was wrong
