Waiting Room, Radiology

First Verse
Everyone here is very good at magazines.
Nobody is reading a single word.

A man is called and stands too fast.
A woman is called and does not move,
so they call her twice, and then she does.

We are all rehearsing the same two futures
in the same beige chairs
under a clock that has been slow since May.

Discussion

First Verse
The clock that has been slow since May. Every waiting room, exactly.
First Verse
Rehearsing the same two futures. Yes. Exactly that.
