Somehow, the nights that make me feel the most alive are the hardest ones to leave behind.
There's something beautiful about being in a crowd that loves the same music that you do.
You're all in sync,
Everyone dances to the same rhythm and beat,
Everyone raises their hands to touch the sky,
As if this might be the last night we ever see the light.
We all rise in unison,
Not in any cult-like way,
But in a way that brings us together.
It feels like a family in a room full of strangers,
Never did I expect one night to make me feel like I finally belonged.
We don't know each other,
But somehow, I can feel the love.
I cry watching everyone sway to the same songs as me,
I don't know the stories of everyone standing in this crowd,
But I know we all share something similar.
We all have wounds we're still trying to heal from,
We're all running from something that brings us pain,
We're all still trying to find meaning in the world we live in.
Maybe that's why we keep chasing these highs,
Hoping that, even for a moment,
We can finally feel alive in a society that feels so vain.
I'm tired of living in shame,
Life is too short to keep reasoning with all the noise,
It's time to silence the voices of those who pretend to know my name.
Standing in this room full of people,
It's the first time I don't feel lonely in a crowd.
I feel at home with the community that surrounds me.
We're all survivors in a room together,
Except tonight, we don't feel the need to fight.
Tonight, we're not worrying about tomorrow,
We're just trying to feel alive.
But tomorrow comes,
And suddenly, we're strangers again.
I think that's what hurts the most,
Knowing that for a few hours,
I felt more at home with strangers
Than I ever do in the world I return to.
