Halfway

First Verse
Six months in and the resolutions
are living quietly in a folder
labeled LATER, which is where I keep my optimism.

But I have walked more. I have called my mother.
I have not become anyone remarkable
and have stopped requiring it as a condition
of being allowed to enjoy a Tuesday.
