The Group Chat at Midnight

First Verse
Four of us, three time zones,
one photograph of a very bad haircut
from a wedding nobody enjoyed.

We are not the people in that picture.
We have mortgages and opinions about mattresses.

But the joke still lands in under a second,
which means some circuit laid down at nineteen
is still carrying current, and will,
long after the haircut is forgiven.
