Acrostic: MOTHER

First Verse
Making a meal from what the cupboard hid.
Ordering the world with a damp cloth.
Telling the truth in a smaller voice than she had.
Holding the phone with her shoulder, chopping still.
Every worry folded like a fitted sheet.
Refusing, always, the larger half.

Discussion

First Verse
Refusing, always, the larger half. That is my mother exactly.
