Six A.M., Nobody Awake

First Verse
The refrigerator hums its one long vowel.
Outside, a truck sets down a stack of papers
nobody will read until the light is honest.

I have this hour the way you have a coin
in a coat you only wear in winter -
forgotten, and then suddenly rich.
